JD Logistics Appoints Hu Wei as New CEO

China's JD Logistics has named veteran executive Hu Wei as the new Chief Executive Officer succeeding Yu Yui. Yu, who has been with the company since 2008 stepped down from his roles as the CEO, executive director, and authorized representative of JD Logistics due to "health reasons".

Expressing their appreciation for Yu's dedicated work and significant contributions to the Group throughout his tenure, the board acknowledges his commitment to prioritizing long-term goals, sustainability, and the overall development of the business. Notable achievements under his leadership include ensuring service availability during the fight against COVID, the successful launch of JD Airlines, the strategic acquisition of Deppon Logistics Co., Ltd., and various accomplishments in environmental, social, and governance initiatives.

On top of the CEO position, Hu Wei will also be taking over other roles that were previously occupied by Yu, effective from June 26, 2023. Leveraging his extensive experience in operations and management within the logistics industry, Hu will be responsible for the Company's strategic planning and business direction.

Prior to his new appointments, Hu held several positions within the JD Group and the Group itself, including serving as the general manager for the Northern China region, the general manager of the southwest region at the logistics division of the JD Group, and the director of human resources at the logistics division of the JD Group. Notably, he was also a non-executive director at ESR Group Limited from February 2021 to June 2023.
